The GHP-04NC is an advanced noise cancelling headphone set that
eliminates ambient noise from the surrounding environment allowing the
listener to hear just the audio source they are listening to without
any interference from the outside world. This is especially
useful in the noisy environments encountered when travelling - for
example in planes, trains, buses, underground systems etc.
(To achieve the noise cancelling effect the GHP-04NC uses the
“superposition principle”. A microphone built-in to the outside of the
headphone monitors the outside ambient noise from which an inverted
signal is generated. This inverted signal is then combined with the
true audio signal inside the ear dome. Any noise permeating the
ear dome from outside will be 180° out of phase with the version
inside, resulting in destructive interference and the effective
cancelling-out of the unwanted noise. This technique is
particularly effective with low frequency intrusive noise such as that
experienced in an aircraft cabin.)
The headphones employ 40mm unit drives for top quality hi-end sound.
The swivel design of the ear-cups means they can be adjusted to fit
differing face contours. The soft sponge and leather ear pads combined
with the soft adjustable headband ensure they are supremely comfortable
to wear, even for long periods. Thanks also to the swivel design they
pack flat into the compact leather carrying case supplied.
The GHP-04NC is extremely power efficient – you can enjoy up to 50
hours of your favourite music on just one set of 2x AAA batteries. A
dual-plug in-flight adapter and a 6.3mm (1/4”) audio jack adapter are
also included.
